As we are all aware of it,there are 99 Names of Allah,each having a different and unique meaning.It is advised that a muslim should remember all this names by his/her heart.Whoever says the Names of Allah 1000 times daily,all forms of doubts and uncertainties will be removed from his heart and instead,determination and faith will become ingrained in him.It is very effective in the cure of any incurable disease if Dua is made after reciting it excessively.

Following are the names along with their meaning in English language.

1. Ar - Rahman

  - The one Who has plenty of mercy for believers and the blasphemers in this world and especially for the believers in the hereafter

  - The Most Merciful.

 

2. Ar - Raheem

 - The one who has plenty of mercy for his believers

 - The most compassionate

 

3. Al - Maalik

  - The one with complete dominion,one whose dominion is clear from imperfections.

  - The king,the Monarch

 

4. Al - Quddus

  - The one who is pure from any imperfection and clear from incapabilities and adversaries.

  - The holy one.

 

5. As - Salam

  - The one who frees his servants from all dangers and obstructions.

  - HE who gives HIS greeting to those fortunate people in heaven.

 

6. Al - Mu'min

  - The one who witnessed for himself that no one is God but HIM.And he witnessed for his believeres that they are truthful in their belief that Allah is just one.

  - The faithful,the trusted

 

7. Al - Muhaymin

  - The one who witess the saying and deeds of creatures (HIS)

  - The protector,the controller,the vigilant

 

8. Al - Aziz

  - The defeater who is not/never defeated

  - The Almighty, The controller,The vigilant.

 

9. Al - Jabbar

    -  The one in whose dominion nothing happens,except that he wills/willed.

    - The All compelling.

    - The one who repairs all broken things,who completes that which is incomplete.

 

10. Al - Mutakabbir

   - The one who is clear from he attributes of the creaures and from resembling them.

   - The Majestic, the imperious, the haughty

 

11. Al - Khaliq

   - The one who brings everything from non-existance to existance,

   - The creator,the maker.

 

12. Al - Bari

  - The creator who has power to turn the entities.

  - The Artificer, The creator

 

13. Al - Musawwir

  - The one who forms his creation in diferent pictures

  - The fashioner,The designer,The organiser.

 

14. Al - Ghaffar

   - The one who forgives the sins of his slaves time and time again

   - The forgiver, The forgiving.

 

15. Al - Qahhar

  - The subduer who has perfect power and is not unable over anyting

  - The Almighty,The dominant

 

16. Al - Wahab

  - The one who is generous in giving plenty without any returns

  - The donor,the bestower.

 

17. Ar - Razzaq

  - The provider,The sustainer

 

18. Al - Fattah

   - The one who opens for his slaves the closed ords and religious matters

   - The opener, the revealer

 

19.  Al - Alim

   - The knowledgeable,the one in whom nothing is absent frm knowledge

   - The all-knowing , the omniscient

 

20. Al - Qabid

  - The one who constricts the sustenance

  - The restrainer, The recipient

 

21. Al - Basit

   - The one who expands and widens

 

22. Al-Khafid

   - The one who lowers everything he willed by his destruction

   - The abaser,the humbler

 

23. Ar - Rafi'

  - The one who raises whoever he willed by his endowment

  - The raiser,the exalter

 

24. Al - Mu'iz

  - He gves esteem to whoever he willed,hence there is noone to degrade him.

  - The exalter,the honorer

25. Al - Muzil

  - Degrades whoever he wills,hence there is none to give him esteem

26. As - Sami

  - The one who hears all things that are heard by his eternal hearing without an ear,instrument or organ.

 

27. Al - Basir

 - The one who sees everything that is seen by his eternal sight without a pupil or any other instrument

 

28. Al - Hakam

  - He is the ruler and his judgement is his word

  - The Arbitrator,the judge.

 

29. Al - 'Adl

  - The one who is entitled to do what he does

30. Al - Latif

  - The one who delays the punishment dfor those who deserves it and then HE may forgive them.

  - The one deserving the attributes of Exaltment,Glory,Purity and exaltment from all imperfections.

62. Al - Hayy

 - The one attributed with a life that is unlike our life and is not that of a combination of soul,flesh and blood

  - The one who grants repentance to whoever HE willed among his creatures and accepts his repentence..

 

81. Al - Muntaqim

 - The one who victoriously prevails over his enemies and punishes them for thier sins.It may mean the one who destroyes them

 

82. Al - Afu'ww

  - The one with wide forgiveness

83. Al - Ra'uf

 - The one with extremem mercy.The Mercy of Allah is his will to endow upon whoever he willed among his creatures.

 

84. Al - Muqsit

 - The one who is just in his judgement

85. Aj - Jaami

 - The one who gathers the creatures on a day that there is no doubt about,The day of Judgement.

 

86. Al - Ghani

 - The one who does not need the creation.

  - The one who satisfies the needs of his creatures

88. Al - Maa'ni

  - The Supporter who protects and gives Victory to his pious believers,
